LGBTQ Financial Advisor, Community and Client Support
Wells Fargo Advisors is committed to supporting and partnering with the LGBTQ community. We understand the importance of creating an inclusive culture where everyone has a seat at the table, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender identity. Our goal is to be seen as the firm of choice for all Financial Advisors, including our commitment to train and grow the next generation of Advisors -- who understand the importance of helping our clients plan for the future while living authentically today.
Wells Fargo Advisors Initiative for LGBTQ Financial Professionals
Our commitment to LGBTQ Financial Advisors, employees and their allies began over 30 years ago, when sexual orientation was included in our non-discrimination policy and domestic partnership benefits were extended to all employees in 1998.
We believe authenticity leads to creativity which leads to innovation. Our commitment to finding the best solutions for our LGBTQ clients is why we partnered with the College for Financial Planning® to create the Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor designation (ADPA) for our Financial Advisors in 2009. This industry-leading professional designation provided our FAs with additional training and a better understanding of how to meet the unique financial challenges and opportunities facing unmarried couples, prior to the passage of marriage equality.
Financial Advisor Networking: ADPA / LGBTQ /Ally Regional Roundtables and Summits
We understand that LGBTQ couples and families may have different priorities and challenges that require careful planning; this was the driving force behind our first ADPA / LGBTQ / Ally Advisor summit over a decade ago.
Today, our Regional Round tables, like our summits, provide our FAs with an opportunity to connect with each other, exchange ideas and share best practices; while participating in conversations as varied as the shifting legal landscape, economic outlook, adoption, family and investment planning for our LGBTQ clients.
Professional Development: Pride Team Member Network
Established in 1992, the PRIDE Team Member Network (PRIDE) serves as the voice of inclusion and acceptance for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBTQ) employees, customers and allies of the LGBTQ community. PRIDE welcomes all employees and encourages personal and professional development through involvement in community events and company activities. PRIDE has offered LGBTQ employees professional career development, mentoring and leadership engagement along with opportunities to plan and participate in LGBTQ community outreach events.
Leadership Training: LGBT Leaders Program
Since 2011, our Lesbian / Gay / Bisexual / Transgender leadership program has been a place that provides high potential LGBTQ employees with unique, specialized development opportunities. The program supports employees with curriculum that identifies and celebrates the unique challenges and opportunities that exist for LGBTQ employees and the communities where we live, with a goal of empowering our next generation of out, proud LGBTQ leadership. We understand that the individual differences and perspectives of our employees’ contribute to the greater good and success of Wells Fargo Advisors.
Wells Fargo Advisors is committed to increasing diversity across all levels of management, identifying high-potential individuals and preparing them for their next role through career development, rotation programs, mentoring and additional training opportunities.
